Spring Appreciation Dinner
Thanks to everyone who helped make New Hope Center’s annual Spring Appreciation Dinner on May 17, 2013 a success! The event, held at the St. Mary’s Cultural Center in Livonia, raised approximately $16,000 to support New Hope and its programs.
Nearly 200 people were present to honor New Hope co-founders and supporters John and Betty Baird for their years of service to the organization.
Guests were welcomed by Executive Director Karen Laing, followed by dinner and an inspiring lineup of speakers, including Al Carlisle, a close friend of the Bairds, former executive director Cathy Clough, and several people who have experienced healing through New Hope’s programs, Chuck Kaiser and Judy Rae.
Following the silent auction, “English Auctioneer” Charles D. Wickins kept the live auction bids coming at a brisk pace. New Hope Center is grateful for everyone who donated and purchased auction items to raise money for New Hope.
Auction winners took home a number of exciting packages, including Tigers tickets, a private wine tasting party, a tour of WDIV Local 4 with Chuck Gaidica, SRT race track passes and a children’s party for 15 at Pump It Up of Wixom.
After the auction was concluded, many people stayed to dance and enjoy the music provided by DJ Tom Walthall.
