Each From Grief to New Hope session begins with a live presentation from a grief specialist which provides information and education about the grief process.  Following the presentation the participants attend age and loss specific small groups facilitated by trained facilitators – many of which have experienced a similar loss. Participants are placed in a group with others who have had a similar loss.  If your child died, you will be with other parents who are learning to live with this overwhelming loss.  If your parent died, you will be with others who have lost a parent.  If your spouse died, you will be with others who have also lost a spouse.  In some of the workshops we are able to divide the groups even more - young widows and widowers are in a group with others who are young and, oftentimes raising young children;  middle aged widows and widowers are with others who are at this transitional time in their life and retirement aged widows and widowers are in a group with others who are at this later stage in life. We are also able to provide break-out groups for suicide loss and sibling loss at some of the workshops.
